Printing Instructions:

1. Take it to FedExKinko's.  This book is too loooong to try and print at home.

2. When you get there tell them you want:

  • Black and White
  • Lazer Paper (Slightly more expensive but lasts longer)
  • Three Hole Drilled
  • Double sided

3. While it's printing, pick up a one-inch "clear-vue" binder from the rack.

4. Put it together.

Total cost with binder should be less than $15.00.  Ask them for other options if this is too much for you or print it at home if you can.

Using Your Easy Everyday Recipe Finder

1. After preparing a recipe from one of your favorite cookbooks, simply write down the recipe name and location in the appropriate columns of the Recipe Finder.

Tip : If the recipe came from the internet you can note the website or, better yet, save the recipe to a file on your computer and note the file name.

2. Then record the recipe a second time. This time write it under the main ingredient (if different from the name) or the secondary ingredient. (Example: For Triple Coated Mustard Potatoes, I would record it under M for Mustard and then under P for Potatoes.) This is, of course, optional but is a good practice that takes only a minute more and will make your life much easier when you go to look up the recipe later.

3. Next give each recipe a rating. Choose whatever scale you like ( 1 to 10, bad to good, or whatever) but be sure to note something. This will come in handy when you try use the Recipe Finder for ideas.

Tip: Always be sure to note the bad recipes along with the good. Especially if they come from one

of your favorite cookbooks. This is just advice, but several times I have seen a recipe that looked good and made it only to discover that I didn’t care for it — then or the FIRST time I had tried it! By noting the failures you can avoid them next time. After all if they “looked” good the first time, they will again after you have forgotten what they tasted like.

4. When it comes time to cook you can use the Recipe Finder in two ways:

  • If you have a recipe in mind that you know would be just perfect, simply look it up in the Recipe Finder and start cooking.
  • If you are stuck for a recipe idea, pull out the Recipe Finder and skim through it. This is where your ratings will really help you.

Have fun, cook often and let us know how the Recipe Finder has helped you.
